in the morning, i have noticed pain in my abdomen when i stretch or cough. sometimes i also get this same pain when i sneeze.

Where in abdomen?: What you describe may be muscular but, if you're experiencing persistent pain that originates deeper than the abdominal wall, medical investigation is certainly warranted to rule out hernias, inflammation, prolapse, etc.
