Could be a hernia: when a person coughs or sneezes, there is increased intra-abdominal pressure. If there is a weakening of the tissues, the intestines can start to push through and this is called a Hernia. Could be due to previous surgery in the abdomen or pelvis. Hernia can be in the groin, or abdomen or umbilical. If there is a hernia, could cause pain. Look for bulging in the abdomen. See MD for exam
