My husband was diagnosed with a groin hernia. after helping a friend lift a washing machine he is having to urinate a lot. could the hernia be the pro?

No: Hernias do not cause frequent urination. Common causes of increased urination include infection in the bladder (usually in females), medications, diabetes and prostate problems. Would see primary care for some testing.
