Not recommended: It would not be a good idea to use MiraLAX in the setting of a dilated colon unless you knew for sure why the colon was dilated. If there was an obstruction causing the dilatation, it could be dangerous to use the MiraLAX. I would not recommend this unless your doctor prescribes it. You should get the cause of the dilatation diagnosed. Good luck.

Yes: It is a gentle laxative. Additional measures like increased water, avoiding dry and hard foods, exercise and fiber rich diets are helpful
