A member asked:

I read that beer or liquor (example: vodka) are equally as good for your health (when having 1 drink per day) as wine. is this really true?

Not all buzzes equal: 1.5 oz of liquor, 4-5 oz wine, 12 oz beer in US has generally same alcohol content. While controversial no alcohol is probably best but generally accepted 1-2/day max may be safe. Health benefits may vary, red wine generally accepted as better. In past showed greater association of cataracts with beer and hard liquor. Bottom line occasionally one won't hurt. Don't save up for all 14 on weekend
