YES: Some diverticula(e) are VERY small and when these little "bubbles" are filled with normal bowel mucous can be missed by both tests...SIGNIFICANT or INFLAMMED diverticulae will NOT be missed by either test... Hope this is helpful Dr Z

Abdominal x-ray showed colon thickening. Colonoscopy came back fine. No diverticulitis, etc. Could the X-ray have been wrong or what could have been seen on x-ray that colonoscopy missed? This was x-ray and not a CT. GI did not appear concerned?
