This type of: bright red bleeding usually results from some local trauma...a burst capillary/small vessel in the vagina or cervix; perhaps hemorrhoidal bleeding after defecation that seemed like it was from vagina. If it doesn't recur and is truly an isolated incident, I think you can ignore it. If it recurs, seek evaluation from your Doctor. I don't think it was menstruation related.

Tough to say: one time, Bright red and small amount may be a tiny laceration or vaginal abrasion you had that bled the ne time. Only a vaginal exam with your GYN would let you be most confident as what the one time cause was. Best wishes.
