HSV-1 HSV-2: HSV-1-cold sores, oral/lip blistering. HSV-2- genital herpes- blisters on penis, vagina, or groin- may be more widespread below the waist. Enlarged taste buds papillae on the back of the tongue are generally benign and not treated to either virus.
