Perspective : It depends on why you are getting it. Is the risk greater than the benefit? If so, then probably not a good idea to get it. If the potential benefit is greater than the risk of not getting it, then I'd say absolutely, get it done. However, just know, the radiation exposure to a CT is about the same as 200 chest X-rays.

Yes: The theoretical risk due to radiation is minimal. Since it is not zero, CT should be performed only when medically indicated. There is also a slight chance of allergic reaction if IV contrast is used.
