Folliculitis: can be a "stubborn" infection since it is in the actual follicles and not in a superficial location on the skin! You should be washing the area prior to applying the steroid cream. . You should review with the Prescribing Health care provider..an antibiotic Cream may be added. Consider consulting a Dermatologist if no improvement in 7-10 days. Hope this is helpful Dr Z
