Hiatal hernia: The amount of symptoms present from a hiatal hernia is much more important than its size. Although it is possible to get bigger, it is not important unless the symptoms are getting worse. The primary treatment for a hiatal hernia is medication for acid reflux. Surgery is not recommended unless symptoms are not controllable. There is no need to recheck a hiatal hernia's size.
