Little or no risk: Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. It should be safe to have sex. There probably would have been little or no infection risk even 1-2 days after the miscarriage; it's best to avoid sex for a few days mostly for comfort, not infection risk. Certainly there is no significant risk after 10 days (assuming your partner doesn't have an STD, of course). But if in doubt, check with the doctor.

Need re-examination: You need to return to the MD who managed the hospital miscarriage and if that MD is a hospitalist and not available, make an appointment with a GYN MD to be re-examined. At that point, a valid answer for sex resumption can be given.
