12 year old has pain when swallowing no fever and no other symptoms, is it strep? when to see a doctor?

Dr. Deborah Ungerleider

Strep still possible: If the sore throat lasts more than a few days, even without a fever, I would recommend seeing her doctor. Certainly if there is fever, rash, vomiting, or other symptoms, please also go.
