Fetal heart beat: You may see the fetal heart beat as early as 6 weeks, but you should see it by 7 1/2 weeks. Your doctor probably says 8 weeks because 1st trimester us can be off a few days. It may be of value to check your Progesterone level as well. Very low levels are associated with non viable gestations.
