Sometimes you can't.: It takes a competent physical exam in association with a directed clinical history, hours of practice and many times just plain old fashioned luck. Of course, all of this should be verified by the appropriate testing. In the mean time a little bit of "RICE" with the tincture of time may work wonders. REST, ICE, Compression and ELEVATION.
