It means that: those areas of the bone have more metabolic activity than adjacent normal bone. It has to be interpreted in the context of the distribution of activity, your clinical history, and possibly other imaging studies, because based on limited nonspecific info, it could mean anything from trauma to arthritis to metastatic disease. Talk to your doc about the results.
