A member asked:

3 yr old dx with ~4 utis by ped & treated. nephrologist advised not to treat if no pain. current swab shows high concentration of bacteria, no pain. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

??????????: There are a lot of young girls that end up treated for uti's that are not.The problem comes with collections that have them squat & pee, which turns out to be a vaginal washout with lots of germ contaminants.Their problem often starts from sitting in a soapy tub & not rinsing their genitals. The soap film irritates & leads to digging & sometimes UTI's. A clean catch or cath urine is more dependable
