Hand pain: Can have a variety of causes - from the neck, trapped nerve (ulnar neuropathy might fit the distribution), local hand problem. Heart pain may refer into the arm but tends to be related to physical activity and settle with rest. Here is some general information on hand pain but for specific diagnosis and advice you will need to consult a doctor licensed in the US. http://www.csosortho.com/hand-pr

Just a thought: the nerves from your spinal cord in your neck which exit between the 6th and 7th vertebrae "travel" to your upper extremities...the pain from one of these nerves pinched by a disc (or muscle spasm) in your neck could THEORETICALLY be felt in your hand ...these nerves also supply the upper chest..THUS the left upper chest (heart)....Hard to believe?? oh well it's just a thought.....hope it helps Z
