A member asked:

I see varying opinions online and the first time i asked it was answered backwards. what are the chances of a lyme test false negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There's a reason: The reason there are a variety of answers is because the chances of getting a false negative result DEPENDS on each situation. It depends on why the test was done, on how likely it is for a patient to currently have Lyme disease, and several other patient factors. For example, if a test is done on a patient who "does not" have Lyme disease, a negative result would have a 0% chance of being false.
