Could be: reaction to your general anesthesia or from laying in a dependent position for a while during and after surgery. If you had an endoscopic cholecystectomy, then it is less likely to be related to operating room time. You may have a serious condition called rhabdomyolysis which results in muscle degeneration from prolonged positioning/ trauma/ medications. See your doctor if it persists.

Post op pain : If really 'extreme' pain you need to go to ER immediately to be evaluated. Extreme pain is dangerous. If not extreme : Any time one has surgery there is a period of adjustment while things come back to normal. Random pains are common. You may be sore from some positioning on the table etc. Take ibuprofen or Tylenol as needed. Should improve over the next few weeks
