A member asked:

I took amitriptyline 10mg for headaches. no headaches now. does that mean it is unlikely that i have a brain disease that can only be detected by mri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Amitriptyline is a very good medication for reducing frequency of migraine headaches. With migraines, there are often no serious causes for the headaches seen on MRI. BUT, I'd recommend you have at least one brain image to ensure that the headaches are indeed migraine and not from something else.
