While waiting on surgery for umbilical hernia what can i do for the excruciating pain, the pain meds er gave me are not working still have a week till?

May have to go to ER: If you are experiencing severe pain, may be it it is incarcirayed , normally umbilical hernia should not give that much pain, may need surgery earlier than planed call your surgeon.

Call Ur Surgeon ASAP: Umbilical hernias never cause excruciating pain unless something is "stuck" (our term: incarcerated) within it; if so, a week is too long to wait for surgery. Either your pain is due to another cause or you need surgery sooner--please call your surgeon asap.
