Tick bites: It is important to remove the tick as soon as it is noticed. Area of tick bite should be washed daily with soap and water. Expect some redness and swelling at the bite site, but less than the size of a dime. See doctor promptly if signs of local infection occur: redness/ swelling bigger than a dime, pus, red streaks spreading from the bite. Followup for tetanus shot if last shot >10 yrs ago.
