8 caplets are ok: A reason to see the doctor would be for diagnosis and treatment of the reason a person is taking ibuprofen. Otherwise, 8 caplets of the 200mg size is ok for an adult, in one day. Ibuprofen can irritate the stomach and cause stomach symptoms in some patients.
