No..doesn't matter: The regular HT site is for general information,not diagnosis or treatment. You cannot define whether a kid has strep or mono or a throat virus by looking, although sometimes it seems easier than others.Proper evaluation would include a quick strep test at the office and a backup culture if it was negative. Some of the worst looking throats I see are mono/viral.
