Few causes: In general dryness of the throat can bring stickiness to it. Could be caused by infection, post nasal dripping (secretion down from the nose to the back of the throat), allergic reaction, smoking, Sleeping with open mouth or reflux disease (acidity of the stomach going up to the throat)
