Salivary gland/diver: the sensation of something "stuck" in the throat could be secondary to an enlarged salivary gland (associated with dry mouth) secondary to a little stone in the salivary gland duct. Other possibility could be a small diverticulum (a little sac or pouch) on the side of esophagus(the food pipe that goes from the mouth to the stomach). Acid reflux can irritate the upper esophagus also.
