A member asked:

I am currently on 55 mg of methadone daily. is it safe for me to also take 12.5 mg of zoloft daily?? is this a dangerous combination??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Potentially: Methadone and sertraline both have some potential to increase risk for an abnormal heartbeat. This risk is proportional to the dose (lower doses = lower risk). You describe low doses, but an ECG would be recommended when available to ensure safety. Of course, it's always important to inform prescribing doctors of all other medication one is taking so that interactions can be considered.
