What is the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes? are there anymore forms or types ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Making insulin: The basic difference is in making your own insulin. In type one, something kills off the insulin production in your pancreas.Since it is needed to move glucose from the blood into the cells, you must get it from an outside source or your blood level goes up too much & you eventually die. In type 2, you can make it but it doesn't work as effectively. You take extra or pills that make it work better.
