Examination: Without seeing the area we can not be certain. Herpes and yeast should be ruled out first. Underlying skin disorders like lichen sclerosis are possible. Frictional injuries from intercourse are another. Vaginal lubricant should help if this is the issue. Show the area in question to your obgyn for a more definitive evaluation
