Virus? Allergy?: Many cases of conjunctivitis (pink eye) are due to viruses or allergy, especially if in both eyes at once. Antibiotics only treat bacterial infecitons. They often are tried in conjunctivitis, but frequently don't help. Check back with the doctor treating you.
