Radiculopathy: Typically "slip disc" surgery refers to discectomy done for a herniated disc - this type of surgery is most effective for radiating leg pains, but not as effective for back pain. Conservative treatment, such as physical therapy and/or anti-inflammatory meds, can often improve back pain, but if symptoms persist then fusion surgery vs disc replacement surgery are options.

Mri not problem: Incomplete healing from taking Ibuprofen is more of a problem that getting an MRI to find out if there is anything wrong. Ibuprophen and other nsaids interfere with healing and can leave you painful because you have not fully healed.
