Care and medication for a bad cough?

Rest, fluids, suppor: Without knowing the cause of the cough, I'll assume it's viral (influenza epidemic in US). Most viral illnesses run their course in 10-14 days (but less than 5 days if you get flu vaccine). In the mean time, notify your doctor, rest, drink plenty of fluids (urine run clear), & keep tissue handy. Cough syrups (with Guafenisin) can help thin mucus, as does chicken soup & humidifier. TTYD.
