A member asked:

In taking a blood pressure manually, what is the diastolic bp? is it the last sound or the number where it started to have no sound?

What'sTheDifference?: I don't understand the question. If you were trained to take blood pressure readings, you know that the diastolic pressure is the first reading [number] after the systolic pressure when the last heart sound disappears. Above the diastolic pressure, you can hear part of a heart beat (however faint); below the diastolic, you can't hear. https://www.practicalclinicalskills.com/korotkoff-sounds
