A member asked:

What could cause the diastole number of your blood pressure to ge too high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diastolic BP: This is a measurement of the resistance of the blood vessels. The physiologic causes include high circulating renin which is a hormone that may come from the kidney. The high diastolic blood pressure can cause blood vessel damage in the brain, kidney, and heart muscle and needs to be lowered to less tha 90 to decrease the risk of such damage.
