Maybe: It will if the source of the bleeding was indeed low progesterone. However, it is not uncommon for period cycles to be anovulatory (no egg produced) in a given month as aging occurs. When that happens estrogen only is secreted and can cause the prolonged bleeding that you have experienced at age 36.
