Bone repair: My first thought would be that the kid had a localized trauma to that site and scuffed the bone. It would tend to lay down a bony deposit at the site that would feel prominent.Over a few years it would likely disappear. I would point it out at her next scheduled visit so her doc could confirm/exclude the idea.
