Hep C can be an STD: The most common way Hepatitis C is spread is by sharing needles with someone who has hepatitis C. But you can also get it by having sex with someone who has it. You are at some risk of acquiring this infection anytime you have sex with someone who has hepatitis C. This risk can be lowered (but not to zero) by wearing condoms.
