Here are some...: If antibiotics used is "perfectly" effective and given at its early stage, you will see drastic decrease in pain and swelling in 3-7 days and these symptoms usually fade away in 2-3 weeks. Occasionally, residual swelling may linger and last for months , even forever. In short, the course & pace of symptomatic resolution widely vary among individuals reflecting the virulence & stage of the disease.
