Is thickened stomach wall seen during ultrasound a dangereous thing?

Thickened wall: A thickened stomach wall seen on abdominal ultrasound is not diagnostic as it can be seen in benign conditions like chronic gastritis or in gastric cancer especially if there is marked thickening. With the finding of wall thickening I feel that an evaluation by a gastroenterologist is warranted.

It can be: Gastric wall thickening can be due to inflammation, such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, malignancy or simply an empty stomach with redundant mucosa. I suggest getting a CT scan and endoscopy. Make sure you take oral contrast before the CT scan.
