Confirmation test: Recurrent cases of vaginitis can be tricky. The 1st step is to see an obgyn so that official testing can be done to confirm the accuracy of the diagnosis and treatment. Recurrent cases should not be self-treated. At age 50 the doctor should check your menopause status and evaluate for vaginal atrophy. This could be the underlying cause or at least a contributing factor.
