A member asked:

I've had multiple cbcs and venous dopplers, all normal. my doctor thinks i have erythromelalgia. it's mild no pain, is this disorder life threatening?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different types: Erythromelalgia is very rare, and can be both primary (ie no known cause) or secondary (due to another disorder). Your doctor has been careful to look for specific kinds of blood disorders, which could be problematic, and no doubt will continue to do so. Otherwise, if it is asymptomatic and mild, recent studies show no overall influence to general prognosis. (ref: Vasa. 2012; 41(1):43-8)
