What would cause a pulsating feeling above my left knee? is this a risk for dvt?

No, DVT does not occ: DVT does not occur in this area(it mostly affects the calf area to begin with). Since DVT develops in the Veins, it doe snot pulsate(Only an Artery has pulsations). I do not think you have anything to worry about unless your leg is swollen or you develop pain in the leg.
