If you are "someone": Self-harming is used by some to express pain or other intense feelings, or to feel less numb or disconnected. Also to release anger or tension. But the relief is short-lived! The first step is to confide in someone you trust, preferably an adult who can help you find help (this is very scary!) If you know "someone", speaking to them about wanting to help in a caring, non-judgmental way is best.
