Does epilepsy give you a higher risk of cancer?

Confounding factors: This is a difficult question to answer. Most studies have tried to dissect whether it is the epilepsy, the medications used to treat epilepsy, or other aspects of the disease that might be related to some sort of relationship between the presence of epilepsy in a patient and relative risk for cancer. Right now, it is unclear whether there is a distinct relationship, but more studies are needed.
