I had mitral valve repair surgery 17 days ago. how much walking exercise is too much? sometimes i get heart pains while walking.

Likely musculoskelet: -al. Regular walking should be just fine. But talk to your surgeon ...No heavy lifting or driving if you had a sternotomy which i assume u did.

Stop,with pain: Walking is generally fine but if it hurts stop, if you get tired rest gradual and steady return to, full activity over 2-3 months is common.
