No: Drinking moderate amounts of alcohol will not damage the heart in any way. Excessive alcohol intake over a long period of time can cause damage to the heart. There is no reason that you can't responsible consume alcohol after heart surgery.

Moderation: Unless you are taking anticoagulant medication, a mild amount of alcohol is not a problem. However if you have or are prone to cardiac arrhythmias, alcohol should be avoided entirely.

Heart valve surgery: It is important to follow your surgeon and other doctors advice concerning diet and alcohol consumption. If you have forgotten the advice then call your doctors office and ask for clarification of the advice.
