A member asked:

When should a high pulse be worrisome? example, pulse for me 98, just woke up. pressure normal though. earlier, pulse was 106. thank you

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your life is: Not in danger with pulse rate in that range, but it is possible that you have a defect in electrical conduction of your heart muscles. This can be serious. It is also possible you have a metabolic disorder causing this rapid pulse. You need a doctor to figure it out for you. He will probably do blood tests, ekg, and possibly even a holter monitor. In the meantime, cut back on caffeine.
