First Aid + Cover: After 10-20mins of cold running water, covering the burn with a dressing to stop the air getting at it will help to reduce the pain. If the burn has caused blistering or has taken layers of skin off then you should have it assessed by a Dr. People often forget to take paracetamol +/- ibuprofen (or other home ain killers) for burn pain.

Burn: Following a burn or scald, make sure you and the affected person are safe from further burns or danger - then cool a burnt or scalded area immediately with water (preferably running cool water - not cold) for at least 20 minutes. http://patient.info/health/burns-and-scalds-leaflet
