What happens if you drink grapefruit juice when you take zyprexa? i read that it interacts with grapefruit. the enzymes

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inhibits metabolism: Grapefruit juice may (especially with fresh-squeezed from fresh grapefruit) significantly inhibit the metabolism of Zyprexa, resulting in higher levels of the drug, which may cause oversedation and other side effects. Please avoid use of grapefruit products. They have been removed from most hospital diets because of interactions. Use orange or other citrus juices instead.
